jRating is a very flexible jQuery plugin for quickly creating an Ajaxed star rating system.

It is possible to configure every detail from” the number of the stars” to “if the stars can represent decimals or not”.

There is also an option to display small or big stars and images can be changed with any other file easily.

Although the plugin can be used with any scripting language, a PHP file that handles the requests is already included in the download package.

nude.js is a JavaScript library that uses HTML canvas for detecting if an image contains nudity or not.

As the algorithm runs on the client-side, it is optionally possible to display the image with user interaction.

The library can be very useful for web applications where users can share images, it can be activated for users under a specific age, etc.

nude.js is still under development for making the algorithm better, however it is already very promising.

WPZOOM, a website providing premium Wordpress themes, is sharing a set of 154 beautiful and free icons named WPZOOM Developer Icon Set.

The icons are flat, black & white colored by default and come in vector formats (.AI & .PSD – so, color is not an issue) besides .PNG (48*48px size).

Accessible Audio Player (AAP) is a cross-browser audio player with playlist support that is created for people with disabilities in mind.

It uses the HTML5 <audio> element for browsers that support it, and the Yahoo! Media Player for those that don’t.

If a browser can’t use any of the options above, the player displays a list of links to the mp3 files.

The player can switch to the next track automatically or with the help of prev-next buttons and its voice can be controlled.

There is also a WordPress plugin for AAP for easier integration with the CMS application.

Close Pixelate is inspired by American portrait painter Chuck Close, this script converts an image into a pixelated version using an HTML5 canvas element. It’s basically a simple demo for canvas’ imageData functionality.

The function accepts an array of objects. Each object holds a set of options (resolution, shape, size, offset and alpha).

Years later forms are still the primary way our users can interact with us, more than just clicking on links or triggering JavaScript events. Indeed, it’s likely the first thing you do when you start up your favourite browser is type a search query into a form.

With a combination of server-side scripting and AJAX we now have feature-rich forms, but all at the expense of programming complexity. Funny thing is, we’re now so used to this sort of code that what is about to happen almost seems too simple.

Inevitably, as is the case with much of the HTML5 spec, HTML has now caught up with the needs of web designers and developers by providing a remarkably simple way of creating usable and even extensible forms.

It is a part of Adobe CS Live (a series of services for designers and developers) which makes creative reviews so simple.

They can write their comments for each file and you or other reviewers can reply to each other’s comments.

After all, you have all the feedback organized and stored under your hands.
